tayxmusic: Halestorm The Awesome

Halestorm L-R: Arejay Hale, Josh Smith, Lizzy Hale, Joe Hottinger (or something like that)

Have you heard of Halestorm?

Loveliest question that could ever drop from anyone's lips in this dead country that doesn't give a hoot about good music.

It vexes me like, really...

Anywho, today's post focuses on Halestorm (the band of course. The front woman-Lzzy Hale- gets a post all of her own)

Their most recent album- The Strange Case Of... is super cool, super loud and super awesome. Nuff said.

Lzzy and Arejay (her brother) made the band sometime in the late '90s when Lzzy was 13 and her brother was 10. They played EVERYWHERE. If there was a gig, they took it. That tells us something people. It really does...

They've toured with some of THE hottest rock/metal acts EVER! Seether, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, Evanescence, Shinedown (awesome right? Y'all probably don't even understand my lingo right now...it's cool, it's cool)

They recently won a Grammy (friggin cool!) and they still can't believe it. Click here to see what they had to say about it.

They are cool, undeniably. I hope to get the chance to interview them one day. Insane stuff...

Keep on rocking Halestorm.

See the proper history of the band here on their website: Halestorm Rocks

Note: Readers check back to see the post on Lzzy Hale, the woman behind the band.

#duroolowuforjcp

Yes, yes, Nigerians are making us proud,  again. Let me explain to you that doing a collaboration thing with JC Penney is (or a brand of equal caliber)  one of THE coolest honours in that  can possibly be bestowed on any designer. So, great job Mr. Duro. Great job...

Food At Sea

This place has got to be one of the most amazing restaurants I've ever been to.

It's sea-themed but it has a lot of charm and space and it's in Nigeria...my country...unbelievable.

They aren't just seafood oriented though- they have lamb and chicken and ribs. As a vegetarian I'm not really into all of that, but it all looks delicioso..

It's called Coral Blue and it really is blue...check out the place settings...

And get this...even the bathrooms are sea themed...in Nigeria...

It's Sunday, I'm stuffed and I'm offline. Enjoy the pics of the restaurant!

Sunsets

They're beautiful right...

I mean there's not much that beats a good sunset, a nice truck or skyline apartment and a wonderful view. Sunsets bond people, they make people happy, and whatnot.

I saw this one on the ride back home yesterday. Hope it makes you happy.

Italia

My dad's going to Italy.

I'm so psyched!

He's said he's going to take pictures for me, of people, bulidings, everything.

He's awesome.

So, this year, I decided to follow America's Next Top Model. We have an old version cos we're kind of behind. Eh...

It's Brits vs. Yanks this time and the competition is hot!

I don't sant to sneak a Wiki check cos I want to follow it like a normal person...

Anywho, my mid terms are done (yay!) and I'm going to do my best to post as much of as possible.

Much love,

tayxlife: Conneticut

I do not live in the US. I really do';t follow the news. But yesterday, my Twitter timeline was assaulted by tweets of condolence for those that lost someone in the shooting at an elementary school in somewhere called Newtown in Conneticut. So, I went to the ever-loved (by me) New York Times website, and was greeted with horrendous news.

Around 30 people, adults and children, were killed in a shooting in an elementary school. A few were severely injured as well.

First question- What is the world coming to? Gunmen hitting up elementary schools for what? What do they have to gain? I realize that that was more than one question, but whatever! Stuff like this makes e so angry!

Things are happening around us...phenomena no one can understand or explain. In Nigeria, something like this happens like, every month, except its mostly bombs and stuff from an Islamic terrorist sect, called Boko Haram.

I sincerely wish that I could do something about all this stuff happening. Only, I don't know what...

My condolences to all those who lost someone in the shooting. RIP to those caught up in the shooting.

tayxtrend: Futuristic Lover Clothes (not Katy Perry style)

Okay. The song for this post is E.T. by Katy Perry, because we are having a futuristic loving fest right here on tayxlife. Why? Because one of the hottest fall trends right now is "Outer Space" clothing dimesions.

Outer Space has been a huge topic in every circle of life- Are there aliens? Are we alone in the universe? Blah blah blah.

In music, videos are getting more "futuristic" I guess you could say. But you can't exactly call them "futuristic" because they are not things of the future, they are things of now...but whatever.

Think Chris Brown's Don't Wake Me Up and I Can Only Imagine, Katy Perry's E.T., or possibly even Jessie J, David Guetta (love Davey G), Pitbull...you know.

But not all the outfits. What I'm going to show you is more...classy, New Yorker or Parisienne style than grunge-hip hop or Mr. International, or beat-mixer. It has an edge to it that is classy and appropriate ..I think y'all are gonna love this one.

Balenciaga gets it with the over sized jacket, silks, streamlined gloves...cute booties...I would totally wear this in the future...my kids or grand kids would probably call me old...
Think of it, we're going back to the ''50s - '60s times for the future with pastels, the adorable jacket Chloe style...love it...
This is Celine...and I adore it...it makes her (the model) look so tiny, yet so empowered...
The paisley print is very classy, very modern and I love buttons...and coats! Yay for Emilio Pucci
As usual Comme de Garcons brings a weird twist with the yellow hair, but keeps it in trend with the rose print and soft pastel and the red brogue-like shoes...love it
This is Altuzarra...I might not be a big fan of furs, faux or not, but the minimalist look is timeless...think Christina Perri mixed with Anna Wintour in this...thumbs up.
This look is just...crazy. Isabel Marant too...buttons, the lace overlay of the top, the flats...chic, classic, timeless  But would probably cost a pretty penny, so try to pull your own look together in a cheaper manner. Check out the set I created of a cheaper look I comes after this post. Designer is great, but it can wipe out anyone's walllet...anyone.
The oversizer sunglasses, jacket, the cute jumpsuit, the minimalist-chicness and the chains...it's DVF. Update your fashion lingo if you don't know who that stands for...okay, okay...it's Diane von Fursternberg...love her...she's such an inspiration!
I guess that's it for today. If you're looking for more 'Futurisitc Loving', just check out:
